Dr. Karren Dunkley awarded Jamaica's National Honour, The Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer

Dunkley previously served as Global Jamaica Diaspora Council member for the United States Northeast region. Reacting to the news of her national honour, Dunkley said in a statement, “It is with profound humility and immense gratitude that I accept the Order of Distinction for service to the Jamaican diaspora. This honour is not just a personal achievement but a testament to our community’s collective efforts and unwavering dedication to advancing Jamaica’s national development.” She said she would dedicate the honour to her beloved mother, Barbara Carmeta-Dunkley, “whose support and love have been my guiding light. I also share this recognition with the many deserving sons and daughters of our soil”. Dunkley said Jamaica’s greatest asset is its people and she was honoured to continue this collaborative work of upliftment and unity for our community and country. Dr. Karren Dunkley is a Jamaican born social justice activist, an internationally recognized educator, speaker and leadership coach.

In an exchange of flows, Anim's natural inclination to poetry inspired cheers and laughter from his cousin, and in seeing that acknowledgement and validation, immediately felt a sense of calling. Fast-forward to the period between 2014-2016, Anim received introductory lessons on the piano including base level music theory, which ultimately lead to Him discovering FL studio a year later, amidst following a rap feud between 2 local artists. In learning one of the rappers, whom Anim is now great friends with produced their own instrumentals in the beef, Calzado was moved and determined to become His own force, ultimately leading Him to meet one of His first musical mentors when purchasing His first set of equipment with His father. Being an adept learner, quick-witted Anim mastered the art of His craft wholly in learning how to impactfully produce, mix, master and songwrite with the mentors and friends He met along the way.

Buzzing Havana Cuba-born, and soaring high, artist B.Sosa’s latest offering, “Hold Me Down” samples Tyrese’s smash “how you gonna act like that”, a significant departure from his usual style. B.Sosa explained;

“I felt I was missing a ‘radio song’ from my catalog,” he admits, showing his determination to expand his musical repertoire “I always try to imagine a music video and who I can imagine on the song,” he explains.  Armani’s voice is smooth and I loved her vibe. It’s a dope record for any R&B fan.
